All the firsts that apply to freight car wheels also apply to our diesel wheel. Our Quality Control gives you the confidence that you've come to expect from Griffin.

Multiple plant locations
Griffin has been in full production of diesel wheels since 1966. We are manufacturing diesel wheels at our centrally located Keokuk, Iowa plant. This means quick delivery anywhere in North America.

Better wheel balance
Using our proven design, we produce diesel wheels cast to such close tolerances that they are better balanced than most steel wheels, as verified by an independent Chicago testing firm. Such balance contributes to maximum traction, smooth ride and longer wheel life.

Safer design
The parabolic sweeping fillets that connect both sides of the diesel wheel plate to the rim result in lower stresses. This gives you a safer wheel with more resistance to failure.

Witness grooves for accurate trueing
All Griffin diesel wheels have witness grooves so the recontouring operation will better produce matched tapes throughout the locomotive.
